XXI International Congress on Public and Nonprofit Marketing (IAPNM 2022) will take place at the School of Economics and Management, University of Minho, Braga, Portugal.

Travel

The closest airport to Braga is Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, in Porto, which stands some 45 Km away from Braga. For GPS users, the coordinates to UMinho are (according to Google Earth): 41°33'41.00"N and 8°23'54.45"W.

The easiest way to get to Braga from the Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport is by using the shuttle “ get Bus”.

Note that as an alternative, you can take the subway, Line Violeta to Campanhã Station [about 33 minutes, between 6am and 1:30am]. From there you should get the train to Braga. Information on train prices and timetables can be found in the CP website. Braga train station is 5 minutes walking distance from the city centre.

From Porto airport to Braga participants can also:

  • rent a car
  • take a taxi
  • a bus service is also available from downtown Porto
    (Rua Alfredo Magalhaes)

    The registration fee includes one year of membership in the IAPNM - International Association on Public and Nonprofit Marketing. A maximum of 2 papers per registered author is allowed. The paper presentation in the congress and its inclusion in the book of abstracts is subject to registration by at least one of the authors.

    We welcome the submission of full papers in English, Spanish or Portuguese.
    Please note that only submissions in English are eligible for best paper award and the publication opportunities associated with the congress.
    Submissions in Spanish and Portuguese must include an abstract in English. Please note that each registered author can present a maximum of two papers.

    Please make sure that you upload an anonymous version of your paper. Do not include the names of the authors in the first page.

    Although submitting a full paper, only the abstract will be published in the book of abstracts.

    The format of the paper should follow the guidelines of the official publication of AIPNM, which is International Review on Public and Nonprofit Marketing.
    The paper length should be between 15-20 pages. Please provide an abstract of 150 to 250 words.
    Please provide 4 to 6 keywords. Use 10-point Times Roman for text. Use italics for emphasis. Use the automatic page numbering function to number the pages. Authors are encouraged to follow official APA version 7 guidelines for References.

    Although submitting a full paper, only the abstract will be published in the book of abstracts.

    Keynote Speaker

    Carlos Oliveira Santos

    Carlos Oliveira Santos is an elected director of the International Social Marketing Association’s Board (2019-2022) and a national European Social Marketing Association’s representative. He was a pioneer of social marketing in Portugal, introducing a social marketing class in a graduated course in 1992 and, in 2002, he co-directed the first post-graduation in this field. He is the creator and editor of the Marketing Social Portugal Website (www.marketingsocialportugal.net/ ), and the editor of the book Improving Life: A Guide to Social Marketing (Melhorar a Vida: Um Guia de Marketing Social, 2004, 2nd edition, 2012), the first social marketing textbook in Portuguese. Since 2019, he published with Professor José Afonso Mazzon (USP, Brazil) the Index of Portuguese Language and Portuguese Speaking Authors Focused on Social Marketing (http://marketingsocialportugal.net/wp-content/uploads/2021/09/INDEX-MarketingSocial-AutoresLingua-Portuguesa-2021-1.pdf ). Carlos earned his Doctorate in Public Policy from the NOVA University of Lisbon in Portugal, and now he is retired as professor at University of Lisbon (Portugal). In 2018, he was one of the 40 leading social marketing experts contributors to the Compilation of Social Marketing Evidence of Effectiveness Key References, coordinated by Jeff French and Doug Evans for the International Social Marketing Association (ISMA) and its affiliates. His book Social Marketing in a Country: The British Experience (2016) was included in this compilation. In 2019, he received the Outstanding Achievement Award, conferred by the European Social Marketing Association, during the World Social Marketing Conference in Edinburgh.

    Carlos de Sousa Santos

    Carlos de Sousa Santos,  developed activity in the City of Braga, at the Bracara Augusta Foundation, an institution where he took over the coordination of the "gnration "Youth Program between 2011 and 2019. Carlos de Sousa Santos was the pedagogical coordinator of Braga 2012 European Youth Capital and after in 2016, project coordinator with the International Youth Organization for Ibero-America, within the scope of the implementation of Braga2016 Ibero-American Youth Capital. Carlos de Sousa Santos is a Social Innovation External Expert at OIJ - International Youth Organization for Ibero-America and cooperates regularly with the “Instituto Universitário de Investigación Ortega e Gasset” in Madrid. Carlos de Sousa Santos, is involved in several European networks, namely the, EUROCITIES, EURODESK, the European Network "Boosting Social Innovation", “URBACT ROOF and Global Goals for Cites of the URBACT EU Program, European Solidarity Network - Strasbourg Club, among others. Carlos de Sousa Santos is a SALTO trainer and Erasmus + Expert and member of the Erasmus + Trainers Pool of the Portuguese National Agency Erasmus + Youth in Action. Carlos de Sousa Santos currently assumes the technical coordination of the "Human Power HUB - Braga Social Innovation Centre, financed by Portugal Social Innovation in the framework of Portugal 2020, between 2019 and 2021.
